Fresno Stonewall Democrats will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Carrow’s Restaurant, 4280 N. Blackstone at Ashlan in Fresno. Dinner and social 6 P.M; meeting 7 P.M. We will be discussing ongoing campaign activities for the November general election as well as changes to our bylaws regarding endorsement of ballot initiatives and support of candidates.

CaDem Progressive Caucus to host ‘Solidarity Summit’ Sept. 25-26

The Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party and the College Democrats will host a two-day gathering of progressive Democrats from around the state, scheduled Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25-26, on the Fresno State University campus, to help shape the future of the Progressive Caucus and Party in California. There will be opportunities for progressives to learn and share ideas with others from the area and throughout the state. Speakers include:

Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus; and Keith Ellison (D-MN)

FCDCC endorses Peace Fresno’s ‘Peace Community Meeting and Dinner,’ scheduled Sept. 11

At its regular meeting Wednesday, Sept. 1, the Fresno County Democratic Central Committee voted to endorse the ‘Peace Community Meeting and Dinner,’ sponsored by Peace Fresno and scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 2672 E. Alluvial Ave., in Clovis. From Peace Fresno, here are the details:

Peace Fresno is hosting a meeting and dinner to bring together Central Valley peace and justice activists, to strategize, energize, and decide local actions to bring our troops home, end wars, occupations, and drone attacks in Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan.

The campaigns of Jim Costa, Michael Rubio and Henry T. Perea invite you to attend an event celebrating the Grand Opening of their new Fresno campaign office, located at 1901 Fulton Street, Suite 111, at the Iron Bird Lofts in Fresno.

The event is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the new office, and will include a walk in support of the three candidates. A light lunch and refreshments will be served in the afternoon following the walk.

Esswein Campaign invites volunteers to ‘invade Clovis’ this weekend

The Michael Esswein for Assembly campaign invites you to volunteer for its ‘Invade Clovis’ campaign event this Saturday, Aug. 28. During the event, volunteers will conduct precinct walks and phonebank on behalf of the Esswein Campaign. Breakfast and lunch will be served to the volunteers, and babysitting will be provided. Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m., with volunteer training to begin at 9:30 a.m.
